It's weird to think that my flight from Columbus leaves in approximately 47 hours from now. I cannot believe that I am so close to leaving! I remember the day I was told I was going to be studying in Spain. I remember our first group meeting about traveling and studying abroad. I remember when I would say things like "three (and then two and then one) months until we leave for Spain!" And now I am saying "two days until Spain!"
I have spent my day doing laundry, backing up my computer files to an external hard drive, making final lists of what to bring and now printing off pictures to take with me. Tomorrow I will finally take the plunge and begin packing. I've been putting it off because I know that as soon as I am done it will take forever for the hour to arrive when I drive to Columbus.
Tonight my family and I are going out to dinner and then we are seeing "Spamalot" the musical. Tomorrow at 5 p.m. I have to work and then hopefully I'll be able to spend a few hours with my friends before I come home and attempt to sleep. I'm hoping that work will be so tiring that the pre-departure jitters won't affect me and I'll be able to sleep at least most of the night. And then Thursday by 11 a.m. I will be on my way to Columbus to catch my 3:30 p.m. flight!!
I mean to give off the sound of excitement because I litterally cannot wait. I am so excited for the first four or five days when Liz and I just walk around Madrid and get a feel for Spain. I can't wait to meet my family, to start school and to start living and breathing Spanish. Only 46 hours and 40 minutes from now...
